Classic buses in action together with trams and trains at heritage railways as well as summer events in the United Kingdom feature on this channel. I hope they will be interesting to transport lovers and for those who like being out and about. I usually upload monthly or more frequently in the summer. Please subscribe to enjoy all of this and I am also on facebook and Photbucket. See the links below.
As well as bringing back memories for some I hope to entertain, inform and educate and also showcase these events as a tribute to those who work so hard in their own time restoring and maintaining the trains and vehicles.

Norfolk Classic Bus & Coach Show and Roadrun from Thursford Steam Museum
Thursford Steam Museum was the location for a brand new Classic Bus & Coach Rally for the East of England. This was a superb location to display a varied selection of buses and coaches with excellent photographic opportunities.
A few of the later buses and coaches can be seen arriving and many of the buses can be seen on display in Thursford Car Park. There is a look inside the engine of MRL 865 and inside the shopping area of Thursford itself.
In the afternoon a sixteen mile roadrun took place along the A148 through Fakenham and the buses can be seen departing and arriving back at the Museum. Late in the day there was also a presentation ceremony for the best buses and coaches at the show. Most important of all was the weather stayed sunny and very much like Summer and hopefully the event
was a great success. Thanks to the organisers for their hard work in putting this event on and to all the bus owners for bringing their buses along.

Thanks for taking the time to film these events and upload them
Much better standard of build than the rubbish of today. Gradually many of our buses are at least partly Chinese construction, this is due to net Zero aims. Until the government/next mob on 4th July get their heads out of the sand and encourage more battery manufacture here this will be the case.
Great looking event with a few rarities. Thanks for sharing. One of my cousins lived in the area.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully it will be back next year. Yes there were some rarities including the Bedford Duple OB which deservedly won the best preserved single decker prize.
@@GrahamSleath I noticed the two BMMO C1's? Loved the little Duple Dominant Ford coach. Great sounds and tables in it too!
@@MegaBreadvan I think the C1's had travelled some distance so didn't take part in the road run. The Ford coach might be at the North Norfolk Railway in 2 weeks so I might get a trip on it. The tables were just outside the museum shop/entrance. Not many people seemed to be visiting as there seemed to be nothing going on apart from 2 half hour organ concerts unlike our last visit 2 years ago which is featured in one of my earlier films. Not very many buses though as it was Gala Day.
@@GrahamSleath Still it looked like a nice event, even if it did look a bit devoid of people. I suppose since the pandemic it is a challenge for organisers now. For years, every year, I'd go to a local event here called La Locomotion en Fête. Not just buses, but cars, trucks, vans, military etc - gathered at an airfield. Since COVID it has gone to the wall. So sad. The Ford made me think of my school bus to Bosworth College back in the 80's. Pam's Coaches of Enderby, ex Shearings Ford R1114/Plaxton DBA81T. The driver was only a little chap but very wirey having to do all those double de-clutches to change gear! LOL
@@MegaBreadvan Yes I thought there weren't that many people but it was an event aimed at enthusiasts and was the inaugural one so hopefully it will return next year. I don't think it is just COVID but the fact that there are less people around from the original generation of preservationists and unless there are more younger people involved then some of these buses won't be on the road. Nice that the Ford brought some nice memories for you. My school days were in Leicester often on a Leyland Atlantean or Metropolitan on the 16 service to Braunstone Frith unless I caught a Midland Red D9 or later many other different types on the 48 service to Wigston.
Nice video 👍👍👍 Looked like a good day out...
Credit must go to everyone who keep these vehicles in top running condition.

Good stuff, thanks!!
Another excellent video Mr S 👍👍👍
Thanks Craig. Glad you enjoyed it. Another superb day.

Thanks for sharing this Graham, looked like a great event this year. Unfortunately I was in the UK last month for 2 and a bit weeks, so missed it. Through your video I at least got to see the event this year! Cheers, John.
Thanks John it was another superb event and a real credit to the organisers and volunteers. Plenty of buses to see and trips. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make Sunday when the weather looked even sunnier.
@@GrahamSleath Hopefully I'll make it next year. Depends where it falls. This year I stayed on, on my own for 7 more days, staying with a friend Braunstone. I could've gone to the Delaine Event, but decided that it would be a pain to get to via train etc and wouldn't have much time. I last went there in the early 90's.
@@MegaBreadvan I did the Delaine event last year but not this year as it was so cold. They have not yet released the date for Quorn next year but they are planning another event on Saturday 27th July to celebrate a 100 years of Municipal Motorbuses in Leicester so I hope I can get to that once further details have been released.
@@GrahamSleath Reminds me of the 50 years of motorbuses book that was released in 1974. I have 2 copies, as my original bought from the Rutland Street offices was so worn and damaged through reading it so much. LOL. Would be good if a publication is done for 100 years. If I came over in July I'd have to consider the train fare and loss of work (I teach English part time and Saturday is my best day). We going away for 3 weeks in August too. Will look forward to seeing a video if you do one. 😊
I can see what I missed while I was in Blackpool, but I did have Bolton car 66 twice.
Looks like you had a good time up there. I've not been for a few years now as it's harder for me to get there since I moved.
🚋😀
Another of your fantastic videos. Some of the buses reminded me of the times my mother used to take me to school outfitters in London, and then we would head to D.H.Evans to have lunch in the restaurant before heading to the material department . The next day, I would be taken to Paddington Station to join the school group before boarding the steam train heading to Malvern. That was 60 years ago. How time flies. Graham, the double-decker bus with the double rear wheels I haven't seen before. Who made it? How old is it and where was it in service?. Keep up the brilliant work, cheers Sarah from Tasmania.
Hi Sarah. Thank you for your lovely comments. Glad you enjoyed the video and it brought some nice memories back for you. The double-decker is CBC 921 an AEC Renown new to Leicester City as fleet number 329 in 1939 and it is a tri-axle bus. It is now preserved at the Abbey Pumping Museum in Leicester and does occasionally attend rallies. It operated in Leicester for over 19 years before being sold for preservation in 1958 to the Vintage Passenger Vehicle Society. Spent some time also at the East Anglian Transport Museum and had a number of narrow escapes from the scrap man before returning to Leicester in 1973. The Leicester Transport Heritage Trust produced an 80th anniversary booklet which you can get from their website and has the full story. Hope this helps.
Mmmm - D.H. Evans restaurant......I too remember it well!
Lovely to see vintage beauties in the videos
Great video of a great event, I was there and sampled several of the vehicles in the video.
Thanks very much. Glad you enjoyed it as it was a brilliant day.
@michaelkeen5010 Hopefully will meet up at a future event. The French school holidays were last month, so we were over in the UK too early for it. At least I got to take some photos of the electric buses in Leicester while there.
@@MegaBreadvan yes I hope so too. There was a good selection of buses at this event this year, as always.
@@michaelkeen5010 Yes looked excellent plus a those I saw last September. Would love to get another ride on JHA227L... 😊

Very nice 👍👍👍 Good variety on show, liking the Olympians. Chambers Leyland and London Country Volvo...
Excellent as always
Great video Graham. Loving all the engine sounds.
Thanks very much. Glad you enjoyed it there was plenty of variety.
What a great video, I used to catch a 310 from Mill Lane Cheshunt to Waltham Cross in the early seventies to go to work in Key markets. Usually an RT, or an RF on Sundays. And we used to go up to Oxford Street on the 715 Green line, usually that was an RM. Happy days.
Sadly the Fenland BusFest referred to in the film will not be taking place this year. If you wish to find out more please check out the following link easternbusgroup.co.uk/busfest.html
Great video.....!!
Thanks very much. Glad you enjoyed it.
We came up from Sussex on KYY 653, so was really nice to see it and the other busses taking part on this video :)
Old enough to remember GS13 being used on the 333 round Cowper Crescent.....but only when it had snowed as it was the only bus that could get up Port Hill, struggling to recognise the area around Hertford East station though
Fantastic video I love it!
i have never ever seen a bus outside hertford east station.
They were not able to use Hertford Bus Station as the area is currently under redevelopment so they held it at Hertford East Station which seemed to work out well.
Great video. I really enjoyed watching it. @craigsibley8161 said "I've always preferred the look of the green London buses over the red." I do think the buses in this video look splendid in their two-tone green. When I see them I'm reminded of the late 1960s film "Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush" (Barry Evans, Judy Geeson and Angela Scoular), which is set in Stevenage and features at various points the London Country buses running the town service. I'm originally from the West Midlands where up until the early 1970s the country buses were the opposite to those around London - they were bright scarlet red all over (the operator was actually called Midland Red). In contrast the urban services in Birmingham, the centre of the region, were much more sober in navy blue and cream - they always looked very smart though.
Nice video Mr S 👍👍👍 I've always preferred the look of the green London buses over the red...
A great day. Used the Slough Feeder both ways. On RML2456
love these old buses
Nice selection there 👍👍👍
